Section 2 - About Williams Esplanade

Council's 2022 Palm Cove Landscape and Streetscape Master Plan includes retention of two-way traffic* along Williams Esplanade. Council is also currently developing the Towards 2050 Cairns growth strategy.

This part of the survey is about how you think the 2022 Palm Cove Master Plan will influence and inform the Towards 2050 Shaping Cairns growth strategy which is currently (September 2023) out for public consultation.

*Changing Williams Esplanade to one-way traffic is not an option as it would need to be re-gazetted which would mean that it would need to meet the current specifications for road width. Williams Esplanade isn't wide enough to meet current one-way requirements, let alone two-way.
